We’ve been on the road 85 days for the round trip to Alaska, but finally we returned home without incident.  The final leg of the trip allowed us to visit Jasper and Banff for 6 days before making the final push to Chicago.  We were very surprised to find these two destinations to be very crowded to the point where we could not visit the most popular attractions.  The campgrounds were full (this late in the season) and the roads packed with cars.  These two are world class attractions and easily accessed from either Calgary or Edmonton, so we should have known it would be popular, but so late in the fall, we were caught unaware.
