Thanks to al for enduring last months poor sound quality. I have solved the problem so we are back to a quality sound track this month. The problem boiled down to a defective card reader. Who knew!
Riding the high seas in the Pacific on the way to Hawaii is our location today. After a hectic month in Australia visiting the major sites of Tasmania and Australia, we boarded our 23 day cruise and headed to Seattle. We have had the pleasure of meeting several listeners on our trip down under. It was great fun to visit our long time listeners, Al and Sue at their home in Newcastle (2.5 hrs drive north of Sydney) and have lunch with another listener Chris. It is amazing that we have such loyal listeners so far from our home. They made us feel very welcome and at home. Al and Sue have just purchased a motorhome for their retirement travels in Australia. RVing in Australia is very popular (and we would be called Gray Nomads) with many campgrounds and free camping areas. Although their RVs are very different from ours due to different conditions, they will be able to make their way around the country while living in their motorhome. We didn’t see any rigs as large as ours but Also 27 footer will fit right with the other rigs on the road.
We are cruising with another listener couple whom we’ve know for some time. You may remember Geoff and Ellyn from our Alaska trip. They have joined us again for this 23 day cruise from Sydney to Seattle. This is a repositioning cruise so there are quite a few days at sea as well as crossing 7 time zones and the international date line. This later event caused us to have 2 May firsts to make up for the day loss on the trip west earlier in March. Confusing!!
Australia has provided many new and exciting experiences as we traveled through the major cities and the outback as well as the Great Barrier Reef.
We try to talk about some RV topic in this episode but our main focus is on the current trip.
