This month finds us in California's Inland Empire near Palm Springs finally enjoying some great weather. From Tucson we traveled north to Phoenix - and back. To Phoenix to attend a Roads Scholar photography workshop and then back to Tucson for another jack repair. This repair lasted for two campgrounds, so we are once again without jacks on the coach. Jacks are a real plus when they work, but since mid-Alaska we have not had much luck in keeping them working.
We attended the workshop as commuters by staying in a campground thus saving a few bucks on hotel. We’d rather stay in the rig so this was not a hardship.
After phoenix it was back to Quartzsite for the RV-Dreams boondocking rally. About 35 rigs gathered on BLM land outside Q to share experiences and camaraderie. Host Linda and Howard from RV-Dreams planned some ad hoc activites and meals for a good time.
We could only stay 5 nights (about all we like to boondock anyway) because we had reservations at an Escapees park near Temecula, CA. One of our goals this winter was to check out the weather and camping in CA as a potential winter destination. So far, Florida and Texas are looking like better choices. We ended up the month in the Palm Springs area once again checking out the winter desert climate and the towns themselves.
This month we feature pt 1 of an interview with Howard & Linda from RV-dreams.com plus lots of RVing tips gained at the desert rally.
